Curling at Marpole Curling Club April 2010
Ok, so I know “working lots” cannot count toward my daily time for “staying active”.
I don’t know how much longer I can say, “Window shopping is my active time…”
For the month of April, on Tuesdays and Thursdays after 6:30PM, there was drop-in curling offered at the Marpole Curling Club over by Marine Drive and Oak in Vancouver.
Forgetting times that we were in fact in an indoor rink, we kept ourselves warm by sweeping and yelling “harder!!!”.
Similar to bowling, however there is a need for a lot more patience and accuracy in throwing. It was a challenge to score because I either kept throwing the stone too hard, or it kept hitting the edges.
Eventually we got a handle on the basics and went back as much as we could.
The Club is now closed and will re-open in September.
I still don’t understand how everyone else got bruises on their legs…
The rest of my curling photos are on my Flickr set >.
I hope the weather gets warmer soon for some pitch-and-putt.
The wii doesn’t really offer “fresh air”… unless I threw a TV and the wii outside on the lawn…
