Wall of Money

Well, I forgot the backstory behind this wall of money at the Endako Roadhouse Pub and Grill.

The wall of bills encompasses one wall and a little bit by the bathrooms.
Turns out it used to larger, like enwrapping the whole bar.

I had BNL stuck in my head when I saw this

With turnover of owners, turns out the current owner took down one wall.
She cashed it all in the bank.

Oh well.
At least there are some left.

Up north again we go!

First pit stop, staying over at Billy Barker Hotel and Casino.

And as usual, I always try to pick something new and a little different to try.

Staying at a paddle-wheeler themed hotel was such a novelty…

And holy moly, the room we had was so girly.
Lots of floral themed wonders.

We didn’t have a lot of time to stay in Quesnel, had to move onto the next town.
But I would need to come back another day to check it out more.

An actual visit outside of Metro Vancouver, Hello Merritt

I went up to Merritt to visit a friend and finally check out BC outside of Vancouver in July.
For those who say “Toronto” is the center of the universe, I have to admit Metro Vancouver is still my center of my universe.

Country Music Capital of Canada Map

I attmepted to check out the Merritt Music fest since I was there, but I passed on it because I wasn’t planning to stay the whole festival weekend.

So the most “country” I was in the “Country-capital of Canada” was checking out historic downtown Merritt.
At least I recognized one country act… Would country-music stars thrown stuff at me if I said I thought that Shania Twain should get a star on the Country Music walk of stars in Merritt?

We drove a bit outside of Merritt to check out the view in Quinchela…

Yes, I like Foursquare…

Ok, maybe a little bit too much because I was constantly looking at my iPhone looking for a signal while we were checking a bit of the landscape of Quinchela.

Especially when we went to have a quick lunch at Quinchela Hotel..
which has no access to mobile towers because of the mountains, as we were informed while being given a tour around the quaint and characteristic rooms.

We ended the first day by sneaking onto the roads of Sagebrush Golf and Country Club to grab a couple of pictures.
