I went up to Merritt to visit a friend and finally check out BC outside of Vancouver in July.
For those who say “Toronto” is the center of the universe, I have to admit Metro Vancouver is still my center of my universe.

I attmepted to check out the Merritt Music fest since I was there, but I passed on it because I wasn’t planning to stay the whole festival weekend.

So the most “country” I was in the “Country-capital of Canada” was checking out historic downtown Merritt.
At least I recognized one country act… Would country-music stars thrown stuff at me if I said I thought that Shania Twain should get a star on the Country Music walk of stars in Merritt?

We drove a bit outside of Merritt to check out the view in Quinchela…

Ok, maybe a little bit too much because I was constantly looking at my iPhone looking for a signal while we were checking a bit of the landscape of Quinchela.

Especially when we went to have a quick lunch at Quinchela Hotel..
which has no access to mobile towers because of the mountains, as we were informed while being given a tour around the quaint and characteristic rooms.

We ended the first day by sneaking onto the roads of Sagebrush Golf and Country Club to grab a couple of pictures.

Pretty much throughout the day I was “Oooo”-ing at the pretty fields and mountains.
